Brad D'Orazio

Varsity Head Coach

 

Brad was a 3-year Collegiate Varsity Baseball Letter Winner at Edgewood College and 2-time Lake Michigan Conference Scholar Athlete (2000-01).  Coach D'Orazio holds a BA in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Edgewood College.

Steve Welch

Freshman Head Coach

 

Steve graduated from Oak Creek High School where he played football and baseball.  He continued playing baseball at University of Minnesota-Duluth and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

 

He received a degree in Physical Education, as well as a teaching certification in Health, Adaptive Physical Education, and Coaching from UW-Whitewater.

His coaching experience consists of positions as Head JV coach at Fort Atkinson, Asst. Varsity Head Coach at Fort Atkinson, and Student Assistant Coach at UW-Whitewater.

 

He resides in Madison and is pursuing a career in teaching.  He is currently and is a full-time substitute in the Madison area.

 

Brad Crandell

Varsity Asst. Coach

 

Coach Crandell attended Eau Claire Memorial High School and was a member of the 1999 State Appearance Baseball Team and the Eau Claire Senior Legion program, where he earned most improved player in 2000.  He is also a coach for Verona varsity football, and is involved with the Strength & Conditioning Program.  He is a certified umpire, married to wife Heather, and resides in Verona.

 

He graduated from UW-Madison with a BS in Kinesiology, Certification in Physical Education and Adapted Physical Education and works at Savanna Oaks Middle School in the Special Education department.

 

Matt Statz

Junior Varsity Head Coach

Brandon Siska

Freshman Asst. Coach

 

Coach Siska graduated from Highland High School (Indiana) in 2002 with the Academic Honors Diploma. He earned a BS in Elementary Education from Calumet College of Saint Joseph (CCSJ) in 2009.


While at Highland, he played 2 seasons of baseball, 3 years of basketball and earned 3 letters while playing quarterback.

 

In addition, he played one season of football at Franklin College and pitched one year at CCSJ in 2008 while making the Athletic Directors List for Academics.

 

His coaching experience has been as a varsity defensive back coach at Morton High School in Indiana, Head Boys Freshman Basketball Coach at Griffith High School (IN), and he is currently the Head Freshman Girls Basketball Coach at Oregon High School.

 

Alex Shekey

Varsity Asst. Coach

 

Alex Shekey is a 2002 graduate of Middleton High School and will be a 2010 graduate of UW-Whitewater.  He will have a degree in Physical Education with a minor in Health and Adaptive PE.

 

In high school he was first team All-Conference and second team All-District his senior year.  After graduating high school, Alex played baseball for two seasons at MATC-Madison.  He then coached at Middleton High School for five years before coming to Verona.  His favorite part of coaching is the competition and making a positive influence on the player’s lives.
